The Korean Pharmaceutical Company “Chong Kun Dang” takes the lead in fostering global human resources.

A number of young and outstanding Vietnamese students from University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh(UMP) and Hanoi University of Pharmacy(HUP) were awarded scholarships for the 2016-2017 academic year.
A Korean pharmaceutical company, Chong Kun Dang Pharm.(CKD), CKD held a scholarship award ceremony on 21 September at UMP in attendance were Dr. Young Soo Woo, the Executive Director of CKD Kochon Foundation, prof. Tran Hung, the Dean of UMP, and prof. Nguyen Dang Hoa, the Principal of HUP.
CKD initiated its global human resources program starting in Vietnam in 2013 to take the lead in cultivating a global talent in having higher growth potential countries. CKD has expanded the global scholarship program in Africa and from now on more than 70 students of Vietnam and Rwanda were awarded CKD scholarships.
CKD is also supporting students from UMP and HUP to enter graduate schools in Korea not only tuition but living-related expenses until the their graduation. It aims to give them an opportunity to further enhance their knowledge to grow as a global leader.
Since 1941, CKD had grown as Korea’s leading pharmaceutical company with 75 years of history. CKD is becoming a competitive drug-inventor in the global market through new medicine development such as anticancer, diabetes and extreme obesity treatment drugs.
CKD Kochon Foundation was established in 1973 by the late chairman Chong-kun Lee, the founder of CKD. The CKD Kochon Foundation is carrying out the largest scholarship project as a Korean pharmaceutical company by providing scholarships to about 7,045 students since its opening. The Vietnam scholarship programt is assisted by the CKD Kochon Foundation as well.
CKD is planning to keep expanding the overseas scholarship program in developing countries and take a lead on fostering human resources all over the world.
